Tough loss for the Flys this week. They were playing really well, such a tight game all the way to overtime. Signing Balrog was a real coup for Mordor, he was really hot there at the end of that game. They earned that one. I’m not down on My team at all this week though, they played hard, kept up with the Crows. Still kind of hurts though, to be 0-2.
Winterfell is looking like they shouldn’t have been elevated. I know that the FSL’s idea was to guarantee interest by preserving the Westeros rivalry, but the interesting stuff is all happening behind closed doors in Lannisport! The Direwolves are bringing nothing to the table but Robb Stark (brilliant player tho he may be). Such a blow too, that Eddard Stark is permanently out. For those that don’t understand: it’s a Westerous league contract stipulation, not an FSL rule. Each player has to negotiate his contract based on the home league’s legal terms. This particular clause is called the “beheading clause” and is used a lot in Westerous. Shortens a lot of careers. That’s why they have such young players on those teams.
I wouldn’t take the Flys loss too hard, it is a long season and Mordor is always tough, more so early in the season. Serenity Valley on the other hand, is one of those teams that likes being in the underdog role. The players seem to thrive on the pressure.
Balrog is a beast, a real throw-back player. It’s like someone sealed up this guy back in the ’70s. Unfortunately, you get the good and the bad with that. He’s emotional and raw, but can be confounded by a smart defense. Shut down his passing lanes and frustrate him long enough and he’ll blow.
I don’t know Balrog’s history but he sure looks like he’s from a different era doesn’t he?
Thanks for the clarification on the Ned Stark contract issue. My heart skipped a beat at the thought of him coming back to the Direwolves, and I was enraged when I found out that wasn’t happening.
Read about it on the Westeros wiki. no problem. I mean, except for Ned Stark.
