Star Trek: The next speculation
I was discussing with bigepaz this morning how J. J. Abrams would incorporate Leonard Nimoy into the upcoming Star Trek movie. It occured to us that he could choose to pick up the story of Spock’s resistance fight on Romulus. Perhaps even dealing with Spock having the same ailment that affected his father.
So wouldn’t it be an obvious opportunity for a TNG crossover? Abrams is good at keeping secrets and springing surprises. It would be a very smart buzz-generating and just generally cool move to have a double-crossover. But who should/would/could it be?

Both Data and Q are somewhat “immortal,” so they would be prime candidates for crazy space/time anomaly trips.

This would be interesting. If indeed it is the story of Spock’s resistance fight on Romulus, or the sickness his father, it would have to mean the TNG crossover would be Picard. It was the Capt. that was critical in both of those story lines.

I’m an odd Star Trek fan. I love The Next Generation, but never got in to the original series, deep space nine, or voyager. Any way to bring a TNG feel into the upcoming movie would be really wonderful.

Time travel makes my head hurt (though I would love TNG to be in the new Trek movie)
