Time for a new America/Australia
This country was founded partially on the idea that criminals and other undesirables should be shoved off overseas. Hence my family’s arrival in Connecticut in 1660. Damn free-thinking Liberal deists. Well history doth tend to repeat itself, hence a South Carolina congressmen’s brilliant idea to send folks convicted of drug offences off to other countries (via Boing Boing). Be careful sir, they might just start a new country and end up shoving yours into the pages of history. It’s happened before.

If I can get permanent residency in the U.K., Canada, Australia, or New Zealand, I would smoke some pot. Mind you I never have in the past, but a living in a country with universal health care would be nice

i wonder what Freud would say about SC Rep. Davenport. perhaps a defensive mechanism by his ego? reaction formation (~expressing exaggerated ideas and emotions that are the opposite of disturbing, unconscious impulses and desires)?
biggest thing about the last podcast, yo Roger, first a lifesaver, then a lifeboat, and finally nearly had to call the San Francisco Coast Guards to your rescue. better example would have been semantics of f#@k versus frack, sh#t vs. shoot, the ease of cursing in a foreign langauge as opposed to your native language, etc.
thanks for the indirect WordPress recommendation Tom. it’s nice. finally got around to making my first blog. also checked out Writely but they’re not taking any more registrants until they switch over to Google’s systems.
hmm, there were some other stuff but can’t recall.

ah, just remembered. current EMW tidbit i ran across,
“Californians of Asian descent won more spots in this fall’s freshman class at the University of California than any other ethnic group, edging out white students for the first time.” – The Mercury News

it’s regarding the entire UC system of which i think is made up of 10 schools? there were a couple-tongue in-cheek acronym-renamings i heard of back in the days. ones i remember now are UCLA (University of Caucasians Lost Amongst Asians) and UCI (University of Chinese Immigrants). do you guys remember any others for other UC schools?
