Drop JD Drew. You never know when he will be in the line up. Drop Houston Street. Arm troubles, Coors Field, and Billy Beane did not want him. Keep an eye on the Red Sox rotation. They have a bunch of quality starting pitchers. You may have a nice pick up there. The minor league kid from the Pirates may be the next Longoria. Most likely Pitt will not bring him up until May so they can put off paying him.

I’m with Christopher on JD Drew and Houston Street. Not sure who my third cut would be. I want to say Okajima or Orlando Hudson, but I don’t know that I have the best reasons for it, more gut feeling than anything else. Big fan of a lot of your reserves, btw. It’s almost like someone else listens to the same baseball podcasts I do…

Liriano is an injury risk. Carl Crawford is an injury waiting to happen. And Orlando Hudson will be terrible — I mean, TERRIBLE — as a starting pitcher for you. Especially when Mike Mussina is still available!
Seems like your best bet would be to make a 3-for-1 trade with Manhattan, with your focus on getting Cla Meredith in return.
In unrelated news: I am the GM for Manhattan.

Kurt your first paragraph scared the crap out of me until I realized you were joking.
Okajima is a set up man, but does get some saves. If something happened to Papelbon he would step right in.
As far as closers go do not be afraid to get one from a crap team. Everyone wins at least 50 games, and someone will get those saves.
