The conversation focuses, rather ambles, around the Oscars as Roger and Tom dodge Oscar distractions, Jango the dog, and the wit and wisdom of special guest Veronica Belmont. There are a fair amount of synchonicities but in between we deal with Rugby, animation, the tech awards and more.

Just wanted to say I love the podcast, it’s on the top of my list! Keep up the good work.

Ok, first off, I have to say that Old Spice ROCKS. When I was in grade school we had a discussion about deodorants and our teachers told us not to use any deodorant that had aluminum in it. I know, probably doesn’t make any difference (now), but then, when I went back to the store I found Old Spice (which has no aluminum) and have been using it ever since, it smells great and the body wash is really great, I’m getting ready to go use some right now (I know, TMI! lol).
Another thing, besides the deodorant a guy should do is to use some good washing detergent when he washes his clothes. Tide has some really awesome cold wash stuff (I forgot what its called) but it smells really good. So, when you’re deodorant stops working, you’ll have a backup!!!
Enjoyed having Veronica on the podcast tonight. Hope to hear her on the show more.
Too late about the degree/certification thing. I went to a tech school and got certified as a Master Site Desginer. However, I guess I could still go back to school someday and get that degree, just hope I didn’t mess up my life! lol
I guess I misunderstood Robert’s comment last week, I was thinking he meant that his prescription was the Internet.
And finally (my last one, I promise!)
Typical East Meets West, talk about the news of the weird and Chinese food. MMMM, Chinese food!

Ok, first, on the federalism of the bible, in the Old Testament, the ‘Hebrews’ were a confederation of 12 tribes (13 if you want to count the tribe of Joseph as the half tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh) who were ruled over by a King of the house of David (tribe of Judah)
And… just listened to you and then TWiT, and hummm, I think, if TWiT had the Messiah, and you were to have the… hummm… the queen of Mars, then, maybe then, Leo might get my vote for the more interesting podcast.
Ohh… don’t take that the wrong way, my comparison in no way refers to Molly or Veronica, because as we all know, Steve Jobs is the former and Bill Gates is the latter… :P
(for some reason the following MUST be read in a THICK southern accent)
…and if you believe hard enough, Mad Dog can heal you…

For good, quick meals that are inexpensive, try chicken breasts. You can usually find chicken on sale at a local grocery store. One of the major chains always has chicken on sale. Add different sauces and you are set. Stay off the ramen, it will kill you. Having a wife who cooks better than you also helps. It worked for me.

Hey Guys, Great podcast. Love hearing you guys in a less formal environment. Just my opinion, but I have to say commentary of TV on a podcast — not so great. Again, just my opinion and that didn’t make me turn off your podcast, and a lot of the comments were funny and the tangents you went on were pretty cool to listen to. I really think you guys are onto something here.
Just listened to TWIT, and is it just me or was Leo being an apologist for overhype of the Apple announcemtns uncomfortably embarassing? Leo’s great and I listen to all his stuff, but that comment was a bit over the top in my mind.
Please don’t be the Google of podcasting, and get out of Beta. Do a formal release already! :-D

Enjoyable podcast. I didn’t see the Oscars so I could only visualize what you were seeing. Hi Veronica! Great to have a person to add some color to the show. Roger, you’re too oppressed. You need to rise above it all :) I’m glad to hear non-scratchy microphones.
enjoy the show.

Any other rugby union fans besides myself, Tom, and Roger? What clubs do you support?

Loved the show. You just might break 100 listeners.

Did anyone check out a Cuban official confronting a fan at the World Baseball Classic? Bad move by the Cuban officials trying to show they should be involved in an international tournament.

Love the show, keep on podding. Currently listening to the back episodes. So for still listening. Also you guys should have a guest every episode. Thanks for the synops of the Oscars didn’t get a chance to watch them. If you get a chance let me know what listener # I am. Enjoyed Veronica being on the show. You should have her on more often. Also love Buzz out Loud.

when i first heard of East Meets West, i simply assumed it was nothing more than a East/West Coast reference but after knowing that Roger’s Chinese, well admittedly i like the show even more. i have to give props to a fellow Asian. Veronica, i apologize for the smarty talk. i have a weakness for being full of myself sometimes. as for doing quotations on-air, i had this hilarious picture of Joey Tribbiani doing his quotations “action” in the back of my mind. oooh. Tom, you had to go there with the relative age dating from the cologne reference. i first started using cologne when i started middle school so… to add another sports topic, what’s up with soccer in the US? i was talking to a friend from Tanzania the other day and he couldn’t understand how football was basically non-existent here. i was telling him that we’ve had MLS for over a decade but not surprisingly he didn’t know we had a pro league. admittedly i can’t say much since i follow English Premier more than i follow MLS. to finish off, Roger, i wouldn’t be seeking cologne advice from someone who likes Old Spice that was not born before the advent of color TV; props to Ang Lee; Korean Shin ramen is the best; and can’t wait for the World Cup in June.

oops forgot. it’s a link to The “Official” Ramen Homepage. i added the quotations. back in the days, my favorite quick recipe was adding an egg, fresh chives, and of course, got to have a side of kim-chi.

Did Tom or Roger ever wear New Kids On The Block style clothing in school? I mean the Hammer pants, turtleneck shirts, button-up sweaters, and necklaces. I only had the turtlenecks, but living in Phoenix with other 13-14 year old kids wearing this when it’s 100 degrees out was pretty funny.

MLS is nice league. I am a Real Salt Lake supporter, but the team playing on Field Turf really is lousy to watch on tv. How about Red Bull New York? I guess some politicians in New Jersey are upset that the New Jersey name was taken out, but the Jets and Giants having just the New York name is not applicable. Good on ya for politicians not being hypocritical.
March 11th, 2006 at 11:09 pm
i guess if i had to pick, it’s the San Jose Earthquakes. i used to live in Monterey and i was there when they switched from the Clash. similar to the LA Raiders, a team stuck in time. still upset in NJ? i would think that they would have gotten over it by now. it’s been what, almost 10 years now? but yes, luckily Red Bull uses an animal for their corporate label. don’t like it but, easier to stomach than Time Warner Cable Metrostars. yeah i really dislike that FieldTurf garbage, literally. i’ve played on synthetic turf before and it really tears you up.
