Roger and Tom share their thoughts on alternative medicine after Roger visits a chiropractor. Does the EU make internal borders unnecessary? What makes a nation or even an ethnic region come into being? And why the future will be like Burning Man.

Thanks for doing another show so soon! I’m not sure if it’s still loading, but the mp3 is only 6 min long.

Mine was only 6 minutes, as well. I deleted it and redownloaded it and it was full length.

Hey guys, the issues with Chiropractic are various, but primarily fall into two categories. First, with the “rational” Chiropractors, no one denies that it can help with back pain, but it does so no more effectively than, as Roger mentioned, a good massage. The second main issue is much worse. Many Chiropractors, and, iird, the Chiropractic organizations behind them, claim that Chiropractic can “cure” diseases like asthma, among others (in fact, the creator of Chiropractic believed that it would cure all disease). These sorts of claims are demonstrably untrue. The next time you find yourself in a Chiropractor’s office, see what sort of literature is lying around and see what claims they’re making. If it’s all about back and neck pain, you’re probably cool. If there are pamphlets about curing diseases, you’re in a quack’s office. Also, there are legitimate concerns about Chiropractic on young children, yet many Chiropractors endorse the “treatment” on very small children and infants.

Yeah, that was my fault.  I must have interrupted the encode when I edited the ID3 tags and didn’t notice.  I just uploaded the full version earlier this morning so it should be fine now. Sorry for that.
