BBC reports that researchers at the University of Texas at Dallas have developed artificial muscles with the strength of a hundred men.

The most powerful type, “shorted fuel cell muscles” convert chemical energy into heat, causing a special shape-memory metal alloy to contract.

Turning down the heat allows the muscle to relax.

Lab tests showed that these devices had a lifting strength more than 100 times that of normal skeletal muscle.

It should be noted that Dallas is north of Austin and the bionic man was Steve Austin. Just keep that in mind. Link.

Consider that given fifteen outs, Bunny scored 96 times. His RC/27 would be 173. Now of course Bunny could not always face a team so ill-equipped to deal with his high-percentage take-all-four-bases running style and bean-all-nine-fielders hitting ability, but even dramatic penalties placed on him would still make him the greatest offensive player of all time.

The conversation focuses, rather ambles, around the Oscars as Roger and Tom dodge Oscar distractions, Jango the dog, and the wit and wisdom of special guest Veronica Belmont. There are a fair amount of synchonicities but in between we deal with Rugby, animation, the tech awards and more.
